Job Description Job Description Apprentice Mechanic Level 1As an Apprentice Mechanic Level 1, you will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, and other mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the company forklifts. This to be completed in a timely and efficient manner, by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action. As a Mechanic Level One, you will report directly to the Shop Manager.Responsibilities and Duties•Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas•Disassemble broken or defective equipment for repair•Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts•Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers•Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks•Other duties as assigned by management•Work Schedule will be: 7:30 am to 4 pm Monday- Friday unless otherwise approved. Overtime is on an as needed basis with prior approval by the Shop Manager or the General Manager.•Will make verbal contact with Shop Manager or HR for all call in’s and late starts before scheduled shift.Skills and Specifications•Ability to approach each work assignment and client interaction in an energetic, enthusiastic manner and act with urgency•1 to 3 years-experience•Working knowledge of forklifts and other material handling equipment is preferred•Experience in Electrical, Hydraulic, Gas, Liquid Propane, and Diesel Engine preferred•Excellent communication abilities-Verbal and Written•Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 90 pounds•Frequent exposure to the elements Compensation details: 20-24 Hourly Wage PI973a3145be19-25405-39440093
